Died Suddenly- Montana edition

Tragic death of local athlete

On the BBR morning-commute show, I want to begin with local news. As my current reporter staff consists of me, I’m going to rely on existing publications and broadcasters for most of this news. Early in the morning I’ll be able to scour the airwaves and online newspapers and choose the most pertinent for my morning show. So that I’m not just repeating the news, I’ll add commentary to spice things up, and I will be joined by guest commentators. The news I choose will come from alternative, independent sources and mainstream media, so of course I’ll be asking: What’s missing in the article? What are they hiding? What would good reporting look like? What are they not allowed to say, etc.

For starters I bought an online subscription to the Ravalli Republic. The first article that jumped out was the tragic death of Joey Counts. Please listen to the 3 minute summary in the audio track above.

Update: this post was written over three weeks ago. I decided not to publish then after I called a friend, who told me he’d heard a similar story about a young athlete dying, and no cause of death given in the news report. Of course among commenters there was the usual speculation that this was another vax-induced, ‘died-suddenly’ situation. But then the father of the deceased went public to say that the kid had died of other causes. The father was not angry about the speculation, as he and his son and the rest of the family were strongly against the vaccine, had not taken it, and would have reacted the same way if no cause of death was given in the report of a young athlete dying. He just wanted to set the record straight.

I wrote the article just a day or so after the announcement of Joey Counts’ death. Now it’s been three weeks and I still can’t find any cause of death given. So the question lingers in my mind, “Was Joey Counts killed by the clot shot?”
