Klaudia Bergerdorfer from kla.tv Frankfurt is in town, visiting Montana and helping out with the kla/bbr studio. She’s going to be showing Andy some editing tricks so he can master Davinci Resolve, one of the more popular video-editing softwares.
Last night I was at Fred VanCamp’s and we were talking about which workers at Perky Pelican Pond service were the most diligent and which tended to slack off. Our regular crew doesn’t slack much, so we discussed some of the temp workers who show up now and then. We talked about our mutual friend William, in his early thirties, who laments the lack of opportunity for people his age. He sends videos to Fred about the younger generation complaining about the lack of jobs and how one guy had all the education and experience he thought he needed on his resume, but was still searching for work after more than a hundred interviews. William said, “This is exactly what I face!” but he also has an aversion to hard work. Once he sent a desperate note to Fred that said, “I need work. Do you have anything for me? I’ll do anything. I just don’t want to do any labor.” Fred read the note a little too fast and thought William had said, “I’ll take any kind of labor.” Then Fred offered William some work at Perky Pelican and Will balked. Fred read the note again and marveled at the last line.
Then I talked about Andy being out of shape for outdoor work in the sun and elevation of Rocky-Mountain Montana, and also about my habitual laziness which he seems to have inherited, and how I think I’ve have gotten rid of most of it, and how my kids are split between natural hard workers and naturally lazy who still lack a good work ethic and must be trained. Fred’s wife whipped out her bible and plucked out a verse from Proverbs.
Today I had the day off and I took Klaudia and Andy down to the studio and she showed us the basics for video making on Davinci. We came up with this short video.
