If I hear just one more person timidly preface their Covid-19 shot horror story with "I'm not anti-vaxx but...." , then I might develop heart problems as well.

Are childhood vaccines in Japan not mandatory? Really. Hmmm. I was led to believe they were. My kids got a ton of them.

Both of my children were born near Fukuoka in a beautiful, little birthing clinic. A day after they were born, one in 2016 and one in 2017, the nurse came in and politely offered the opportunity to get their shots. I politely declined and never heard another word about it! My children remain vax-free to this day.

No one in either the kindergarten or the elementary school has mentioned vaccination that I’m aware of. If they did, my wife would’ve informed them of our children's unvaxxed status. We have one in 1st grade and one in 2nd grade now.
