I'm not sure about this, but in the photo taken by the more professional photographer, it looks like the woman at the far right is wearing "sweats". Or is she the waitress and in uniform? Or am I seeing things which aren't there?
Yep, she is dressed super-casual in sweats and t-shirt. At least we can expect no tats, nose ring or blue hair (her hair is colored but she chose brown, plausibly natural). I like that picture- it's a classic after-work scene. Best part is the two guys on the far left. Old Tanaka roped young Uchiyama into another dinner out. Uchiyama just wanted to get home to his woman (or video game) but you can't turn down your senior, who happens to be the office manager. Uchiyama is required to laugh at Tanaka's jokes but at least he has a cold beer to take the edge off. Hopefully Tanaka-san won't make the young salaryman pay the bill.
Before the panic, I frequented several cheap places to dine on my way home from work. They are now all geared for foreign tourists offering things like the “Tokyo Special Yakitori Set” for ¥3000 for something like 10 skewers. EXPENSIVE. All but two of my old stand buys in Akihabara went under during the repeated look downs lite we were put through. Most are now Yaki Ike which is not good for between classes. I have to re do my research and find where locals eat now.

Well, like they say, every silver lining has a cloud. You should find that karubi place above. A buck twenty three for a beer? rejoice man!
