De Andere Krant (the Other Newspaper), or as they prefer to be called in English, Different Times, is a print and online newspaper from Holland. This is the interview I promised to do with Karel Beckman (I call him Karl and that’s close enough for him) after our face-to-face meet up in Amsterdam fell through, as described here.
From my experience, alternative print media, of the kind that publish weekly newspapers that you can find around town in stores, street box dispensers and the library are generally, carefully mainstream left. You may think that certainly your local free, alternative weekly rag at the convenience store is a heck of a lot more avant-guarde lefty than than the main paper in your town, but brom my reading, they pretend to be populist but never challenge the taboo-in-mainstream stuff like covid-19 or global warming skepticism, or the NWO. They often suffer massive TDS and would sooner steer you to the Democrat Party then find common ground with conservatives in order to finally challenge the duopoly with an agenda that represented everyone. I remember one writer at the popular Seattle Weekly whose avatar had him proudly walking around with a steaming cup of coffee in an NPR mug. NPR- good grief. During the pandemic I don’t think the Weekly was any less Fauci/mainstream medicine/covid fraud/big pharma-loving than the Seattle Times.
The other main Seattle weekly is The Stranger. They present as far left of the Weekly. Here’s a screenshot of a recent article celebrating Montana, the abortion state of the Rockies:
I lived in San Diego for six years, well before the plandemic, so I can only guess that the weekly Reader was just as on-board with the whole fake pandemic. They used to have a decent movie reviewer, however.
What I like about De Andere Krant is that it seems to be a truly populist and honest weekly journal in print. They lean left, according to Karel Beckman, editor. but they are not stuck, like TDS lefties at other weeklies, opposing anything and everything that the dissident right stands for. They are awake to the covid scam and are firmly anti-war, and not blindly supportive of the endless arming of Ukraine and decimation of it’s young, male population.
De Andere Krant is available online, too, but it’s only in Dutch for now.
