Say what you will about global warming- I was more than happy to have a warm December, with no snow on the ground. This photo was taken just before Christmas:
You can still have winter beauty even if you don’t get a dump of snow. When the temp gets low enough, it’s a frosty wonderland around here:
According to the always-accurate Montana weather report, winter is finally arriving. We’re supposed to get snow this week, and temps will go sub zero starting Thursday.
My #2 go-to library is the one in Hamilton, where two or three of the librarians still wear the infernal mask! One cool thing about that library is a gazebo out in the little adjacent park, where they have a free-books rack. Look at these great finds!
I like how the Webster’s doesn’t even have the word “English” on the cover.
Without the free-book Gazebo, I would have never found the Enciclopedia del Arte en America that nobody wanted and along with a bunch of obscure artists from around the Americas, I might have never discovered the prolific German-American artist, Gari Melchers.
I also love his painting of a Dutch woman and her baby:
We had a work party on Saturday. Cleared out the old furniture and started with an empty room. Bernd got the north wall painted, and then the workday goal was to build a solid-framed green screen, build the interviewing table, and build and mount a corner shelf where we’ll put some decorative stuff as a background for interviews.
Great to have a solid team of helpers!
Well, I’m about at my picture limit here on Substack, so I’ll save the memes for next time. We hope to have the studio in working order by Wednesday, so stay tuned!
So great to watch God work! What a wonderful group of people. 🥰
