Waiting for son Roy’s foot to heal. He’s a good footballer and the highlight of having him come over from Japan was going to be playing together in the weekly, and sometimes twice-weekly pickup soccer game down at the high-school fields. But he’s out for a while; you can’t risk re-injuring a fractured foot. So I go out alone and try not to stink up the field- my passing is average, my defense is not bad and if I refrain from taking shots I’m not too much of a burden for my team. Like basketball, in soccer there’s still stuff that the semi-klutz or old and slow can do. (basketball- if your shots-even your layups- are bricks, you can always resort to defense, rebounds and setting screens.)
It’s a mixed crowd at the pickup game. On the white side: local high-school boys, recent college grads, and older hacks (me being the second oldest)- and on the side of color and vibrance: a Brazilian and a Chinese who work at the lab (yep, the Fauci lab in Hamilton), an east African (Sudan?), and a bunch of central Americans, mostly from El Salvador. In previous years it was just whites and a few Hispanics, but now nearly half the players on the field are from south of the border. They are all friendly and talented players and without them I guess we might not field a full 11 on 11. I like to practice my Spanish and joke around with them, and sometimes I’m asked (by either faction- native and alien) for a translation or two.
Tony-Hey Dan, how do say goalkeeper?
Dan-Portero.
T-What?
D-POR TE RO.
T-OK, Portero. Is there any other way to say it?
D-Beats me. Who do you think I am, Lyndon Larrouse?
I remember going on a hike back in summer of 2020 up to a hot spring near the Salmon River in Idaho. On the way home, passing through the town of Salmon, we passed a soccer field and it was full of Hispanics. I thought they were Mexican as I’ve heard there are plenty of them working agriculture in Idaho as is the case in Eastern Washington. In terms of soil quality and water availability, Idaho is better than Montana for crop production so I guess you’d expect more immigrant labor. Hence fewer Mexicans and Central Americans on the soccer field at the pickup game here in Montana. But something has happened this year and their numbers keep growing. Are they part of the Federal government/deep State/globalist push to disenfranchise whites and Brazilify the nation? Were these guys invited by NGOs and handed air tickets, debit cards and smart phones, just like the ones filling hotels all over the crumbling West as part of the Rothschild/Kalergi replacement plan? I can’t say- they all have jobs, mostly working construction, and when it gets cold they go back to tropical Guatemala and El Salvador for the winter. It’s hard to dislike these guys, just working hard, saving up and going home to nicer climes when the sub-zeroes hit. I have nothing against them personally but the last thing Montana needs is for our local blue-collar labor force to lose out to developing-nation immigrants. And let’s face it, ethnic replacement is real- to hell with our open-border insanity!
Of course cheap foreign labor drives wages down. The Salvadoreans who work here wouldn’t possibly be able to afford a house in the area, but their wages are enough to buy a house back home. It’s a pretty good deal for them- come to Montana and work and play soccer in the nice spring and summer months, then leave when frigid weather arrives and enjoy the central-American summer dry season in the house they bought with greenbacks. Meanwhile local 20-somethings Jayden and Isaac can’t afford to leave mom’s basement, job or no. I had a discussion about this with Pam Riley, a FOX-watching boomer who is sick and tired of young people who won’t work.
-They need to get out of the house and work!
-I agree Pam, but it’s not quite the same as when you were young.
-Whattya mean? We had to pick ourselves up by the bootstraps. I worked hard and so did my family and friends!
-Yeah, and you lived in an era when one wage earner could buy a house and support a family. Now it’s near impossible. And it doesn’t help that so many of our working class and white collar jobs are going to lower-wage foreigners.
-Well, I don’t like that, but young people still need to get out and work!
Eddy the Chinese engineer/vaccine specialist (from Wuhan??) at the local NIH facility was in the goal, kicking the ball around with his son Wei-Chi during water break. Wei-chi has a solid shot and was blasting balls into the net, past Eddy who was laughing as he strained to stop them. Juan from San Salvador said (in Spanish), “That kid is pretty good.”
“Fuerza China!” said I. “Same as their economy.”
Juan laughed and I said, “The new hegemon, replacing my crumbling nation.”
Juan said, “It’s ‘cause Americans don’t want to work.”
I guess he and Pam Riley are in agreement there.
Juan probably thinks that to save America we need to just keep bringing in Eddies, Juans and Wei-Chis. Correction, Juan probably doesn’t worry much about saving America. If we go down, he’s back to Shangri-La, his new plot at the beach a couple hours from San Salvador where’s he’s going to build his house. The one who thinks this inundation is good for America is more likely Jerrod Fultz, the ‘organizer’ of our pickup games. He and his Missoula friends are in the Great-Replacement camp. With a little sleuthing I discovered the Missoula group spearheading the migration effort locally. It started like this:
Hey all, FYI for THIS SUNDAY ONLY: let's play soccer in Missoula, starting at 3pm at the Fort. See attached flyer for details. There will also be dinner, music and games!
-Jerrod
And here is the flyer:
World Refugee Day? Soft Landing Missoula? Good grief, our pickup soccer game, absolutely apolitical until this moment, is now part of a woke movement?
I googled the organization and sure enough got my fill of woke madness.
First the AI-generated answer to my search:
Soft Landing Missoula
Soft Landing Missoula is a community-based nonprofit organization that works with refugee and immigrant families as they build new lives in Missoula, Montana. Their mission is to invest in the long welcome, celebrate milestones and culture, and create opportunities to share experiences as a way to build a community where everyone can thrive.
Description
Soft Landing Missoula provides a range of services and programs to support refugee and immigrant families, including language classes, job training, and cultural orientation. They also offer a variety of community events and activities to help families connect with each other and with the broader Missoula community.
This is just what we need, another little Somalia a la Twin Cities; another place with MS-13 gangs a la East LA, here in Montana for crying out loud. Who wants this? I’m willing to bet not even the average super-lib in Whitefish wants this stuff. (You can bet that given the price of property and rent in Whitefish, they will be the last Montanans to suffer the ill-effects of mass migration, simultaneously enjoying their prosperity and sanctimonious superiority until they move to the next, safe, all-white getaway.)
I know, I know. Where’s your brotherly luuuuv, DW Shumway?
OK, Before I comment further on this Missoula group, here’s my requisite, world-citizen bonafides to forestall accusations of racial antagonism:
DW Shumway speaks X foreign languages and regularly translates on the soccer field.
He has friends of X different colors and nationalities.
He’s lived in X foreign countries, and has been to Tijuana over a dozen times.
He attended a diverse drum circle at Dog Beach in San Diego.
After learning from AI, I went to the webpage. It’s depressing: “…Montana was one of only two states that did not participate in refugee resettlement…”
Shame on us!
Because Americans already living here have all the support they need, thank you very much.
‘cuz our resources are infinite, so we don’t have to worry about pasty-white, racist, legacy Americans whose ancestors supposedly built place- they’ve got all they need.
Because who would want to live in a benighted, backwater, homogenous place like overwhelmingly-white Montana? What we really want is what our cultural superiors have in Huntington Park, South Chicago, East Lansing, and (closer to home) Spokompton.
-Hey Bill, is your daughter Kelly-Ann still going out with Jeremy Higenbotham? They were gonna get married, weren’t they?
-(sigh) No, she’s shacking up with some dude from Burkina Faso named Mamoudou.
Again, who wants this? Who’s behind it? Where is the funding coming from? What about supporting our own struggling population, FCOL!
Once I’m off the workaday schedule and full-time at BBR, maybe I’ll look into it. For now, a few pictures of the staff at Soft Landing Missoula:
They say that college-‘educated’ liberal women are the downfall of the country. Could be. On the other hand, they look friendly (just don’t cross ‘em). And Allie and Casey are kinda cute. Plus, only four nose-piercings out of 12 (I’m only counting one for double-ringed Natalia). Not too bad! Maybe Jerrod should apply here- they seem to need a little gender diversity. But then- whoops- shame on me for assuming everyone in the staff pictures identifies as female. Give it a shot, Jerrod. (I’m thinking there’s a chance you’re only interested in this organization for the girls anyway.
Addendum:
My response in the group email to Jerrod’s appeal to participation in the woke tournament in Missoula:
Howdy all,
I’m staying in town tomorrow, and will be at the regular field here in Hamilton at 5 PM as per usual. Incidentally, I have the jerseys and the balls, etc.
Regards,
Dan
(assistant deputy equipment manager)
We had a great, 11 on 11 match. And nobody lamented our non-participation in the fun and games in Missoula.
Cudos on the victory against the wokedness! Way to go white boy 😄
So many respond to what I write with variations of fleeing. I keep telling them, that there is no where to flee to that they will not seek you out and find you. Like a jealous god, they cannot abide the thought of a single soul not bending to their will. And here we have your situation in your neck of the woods and illegals with state issued IDs in my home town in the middle of an ocean of corn fields of 7000 “legal” residents.
When do we start fighting this?
