Pearl Harbor- Unprovoked?

The KLA production, and the making of

We put together a mini-documentary on Jeannette Rankin’s 1942 address to Congress, a speech she penned, entitled, “Some Questions About Pearl Harbor’. To watch the video, you can click the photo above or see it on the KLA website (or access all other platforms where it is available.

It was a lot of work, but quite fun putting this project together. Lukas did a ton of tech work, alongside the team back in Germany. I asked for volunteers here in Montana, back in Japan, and in England, to help with voice-over work. Most of the recordings were done ‘live’, as in I and sometimes Lukas too were there with the speaker, using half-decent amateur recording equipment that I’ve been using for KLA productions for a number of years now. We recorded in bedrooms, inside cars, in offices, etc. Other recordings were done directly onto computers or smart phones and sent to us over the internet. Everyone’s recordings sounded great, and really matched the personalities they were portraying. When you match the sound with the great visuals that Lukas and the team in Frankfurt put together, it all looks and sounds rather professional.

Thank you all! And a special nod to M. for her great recording of Jeannette Rankin’s speech.
