I think I mentioned in a previous stack that I had come across a Firing Line episode where William F. Buckley interviewed Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. Sheen began the interview by mentioning that he thought that nations, as in the people as a collective, not just individuals, were under the obligation to repent of their sins. Does America as a nation have anything we need to admit and apologize for, or are we the perennial force for international good, as depicted by Hollywood and Be All You Can Be US Army recruitment ads?
If my heretical, alternative-press, revisionist-history reading is true, we have plenty to repent of. How guilty is our nation of causing world degradation, destruction and suffering? This thought was on my mind and I decided to do a walk-and-talk video which asks the question, Is America the Great Satan? I hope you aren’t offended by the question. If it’s something that shouldn’t even be asked, please let me know why.
Part 1 (22min.):
Part 2 (5 min.):
I truly hope this was a rhetorical question! The USA is the #1 terrorist organization in the entire world. Like you I walk and it sickens me people have the audacity to display the American Flag!
Sorry, Dan, but I have lost the sound on my computer and cannot listen to anything until I get it fixed. I'm sure it is worthwhile and, yes, absolutely yes, you should be asking questions. Carry on.
